Canada Start-up Visa program is the first of its kind in the world, it connects innovative immigrant entrepreneurs with experienced private sector organisations that have expertise in working with start up companies which will create jobs in Canada and eventually compete globally. This program grants permanent residents to entrepreneurs while assisting them to become established in Canada. Under this program up to five applicants are allowed under one business if, each applicant holds at least 10% voting rights and jointly with the designated organization hold more than 50% of voting rights. If the primary applicant is rejected by IRCC, other applicants with will be rejected as well.
Requirements:
- Letter of support by the designated Angel investor group or Venture capital fund or Business incubator.
- Angel investor group: Minimum financial commitment of $75,000
- Venture capital fund: Minimum financial commitment of $200,000
- Business incubator: Acceptance into a business incubator program
- A score of at least CLB 5 in all four skills of English or French
- Proof of settlement funds for the applicant and any accompanying family members
